Equine Zone Visit Scheme
In addition to our usual service from November 2017, we are offering a Zone Visit Scheme for routine work such as vaccinations, blood sampling, routine dental work, passports, microchips and non-urgent consultations/examinations. The cost of the service provided e.g. vaccinations, etc will be charged on top of the zone visit fee at the standard price. The scheme has been devised to reduce costs for our clients, and to improve the efficiency of our time. With a little planning, you can save money on your veterinary bill.
If you don’t wish to use this scheme, you can still book a standard visit on any day as usual.
How Much Will It Cost?
Any pre-booked zone visit will be charged at £25.00 incl. vat. If there is more than one owner on the same yard booking a visit, the cost will be £12.50 incl. vat each if there are 2 owners, and £9 incl. vat each if there are 3 owners. For yard visits see below. Payments for zone visits will be payable on or before the day of the visit. Prepayments are encouraged to save time. We accept cash or card.
How to Book a Zone Visit
Zone visits have been divided into four areas and will be covered Tuesday to Friday. To find out which day of the week your area is in, please look at the map or contact the Equine Centre on 01226 763542. The Zone area will be determined by where the stable is situated, and not by where you live. The visits are booked on a first come, first served basis, and the number of visits may be limited on the day. We may get fully booked some weeks in advance, therefore early booking is recommended.
Each Zone Visit is required to be booked by 4pm the day before, this must be done on the last working day prior to the visit. This means that Zone Visits on Tuesdays following a Bank Holiday must be booked by 4pm on the previous Friday. Appointments cannot be made on the day of your desired Zone Visit. We will not be able to offer you a specific time for the Zone Visit but can offer you morning or afternoon, and the allocated zone visit vet will ring you nearer the time of the visit. To make it easier to administer, the practice will allocate a vet for your zone day, you can’t request a specific vet. Visits with your preferred vet will still be available at the standard visit price, subject to availability.
We strongly recommend case continuity and therefore ideally the vet who first attends should continue to monitor your horse’s progress and its response to treatment. For this reason, re-examinations of on-going cases are not recommended on Zone Visits.
Interested in a Yard Visit? Any yard that has four or more owners requiring a visit on the same day, the visit fee will be completely waived. Zone scheme terms and conditions will still apply to yard visits re routine work, payment, etc. but will require 24hr notice. Yard visits may be allocated to another suitable day other than Zone Visit Day depending on how busy the Zone vet is.

Equine Health Monthly Payments
At Churchfield Veterinary Centre we believe in a proactive, preventive approach to your horse’s healthcare. We know how important your horse’s health is to you and we want to help you keep him / her happy and healthy for longer. This is why we have designed these Equine Health Plans.
An Equine Health Plan makes it easy for you to protect your horse against preventable diseases and discomfort by making sure your horse’s vaccinations, parasite control and general health are all up to date. Regular check-ups and early diagnosis of any potential health issues will help your horse enjoy a long, comfortable life, whilst saving you money and worry too.
Equine Health Plans are not insurance: Equine Health Plans include the regular things – like vaccinations, worm egg counts, annual tapeworm treatment, health checks and advice in an easy monthly payment plan – the things that insurance generally doesn’t cover. However young or old your horse, an Equine Health Plan is designed to adapt to your horse’s needs.
An Equine Health Plan is a simple and affordable way to get all of the preventive care that our practice recommends for your horse.
